Shamed into submission by a modern incarnation of original sin, scared to even breathe, the natural tendency of youth to question and resist authority has been greatly diminished. Already burdened with an ocean of debt from decades of brutal and senseless wars, at home and abroad, they have been taught to embrace conformity and to fear freedom in any form.
